Who We Are

We are a non-profit organization started by Duke medical students in 2017. Now, our volunteer and leadership base has expanded to undergraduate, medical, and graduate students, as well as community members here in North Carolina who share the common goal of battling food insecurity.

What We Do

The Fresh Produce Program (FPP) is committed to improving community health by addressing nutrition insecurity and improving our local food system through innovation, partnership, and research. Through the FPP, we collaborate with healthcare providers to identify patients who face food insecurity and diet-related chronic conditions. We partner with local organizations and farms like Farmer Foodshare, Sankofa Farms, and Duke Campus Farm to provide fresh produce and health education resources to over 600 patients through our weekly deliveries.
