Description

The Grant Research Intern is a data and capacity-building enthusiast driven to increase the percentage of youth of color (including Hispanic and low-income students) entering, progressing, completing, and transferring into STEM disciplines, improving their financial literacy and entrepreneurship capabilities. One of the primary roles of the Grant Research Intern is to research corporate, individual, federal, state, local, and private grant opportunities.

Compass Youth Center and its BasketBotz program require external funding sources to support operating costs. The Grant Research Intern will play an integral role in helping the organization identify youth investors to increase the number of middle and high school students in North Carolina engaging in STEM, financial literacy, and entrepreneurship training.

The Grant Research Intern will create a database/working document and investigate other funding sources to scale and sustain the BasketBotz program of Compass Youth Center.

Central to the working document will be the ongoing ability to track grants in terms of their value, the application deadline, the prerequisites necessary for applications, and other details that will be paramount to confirm the eligibility and potential awards/regranting process.
