95% Remote 

Looking for a way to make a BIG impact in the community from the comfort of your home in just a few hours a month?  Join our team as the Delivery Scheduler for the SHP NC-Durham Chapter. The Delivery Scheduler is responsible for setting up the logistics for the delivery of beds to needy kids in our community.

You will be part of a small team committed to ensuring that “no kid sleeps on the floor in our town”. The delivery team is comprised of the following:

 

Delivery Manager – Oversees all aspects of the vetting and delivery process

Vetting Coordinator  – Responsible for talking to the recipient families and preparing them for delivery 

Delivery Scheduler (YOU!) – Responsible for taking those recipients that are ready for delivery and assigning delivery teams and routes; oversee delivery operations. 

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Support approximately 9 large scheduled deliveries / year (March –November) and  potential smaller ad hoc deliveries as needed. 
  • Obtain information from the Volunteer Coordinator about how many volunteers are signed up for each delivery date
  • Maintain and utilize vehicle / truck capacity for each volunteer (how many beds can they take)
  • Based on information from the Volunteer Coordinator, set up teams of trained CORE volunteers and community volunteers for delivery day.  Historically, there are 6 – 9 teams per delivery day.  Teams are composed of a trained CORE volunteer and 3 -4 community volunteers.
  • Assign teams to delivery locations based on team vehicle capacity 
  • Map delivery routes for each team using Google Maps
  • Utilize Excel spreadsheets to keep track of recipient information (Name, address, contact info, children information) for each delivery date
  • Provide detailed delivery sheets to each delivery team, including recipient contact information, address, number of beds by age and gender, and suggested delivery route based on the address for multiple deliveries
  • Utilize inventory spreadsheet and work with Inventory Manager to ensure adequate inventory of all materials and age/gender appropriate bedding prior to delivery day
  • Work with the Warehouse Manager to confirm all toolkits (tool bags, bolts etc) are ready to go for each team
  • Handle any last-minute changes to teams / recipients that may occur before delivery
  • After delivery, closeout requests in Salesforce with actual delivery information 
  • Provide timely reports to Delivery Manager regarding delivered beds vs requests and status of upcoming deliveries
  • Participate in bagging up linens at the warehouse on an as needed basis
  • Be available on delivery days for any questions / issues from the teams and be onsite at the warehouse on delivery days for a couple of hours, if required
