What We Do
Duke PAWS (Promoting Animal Welfare through Service) is a Duke student community service group organized to support the companion animal population and educate the public on the importance of responsible pet care. This work is achieved through a variety of events including volunteering at local animal shelters like the Animal Protection Society of Durham, collaborating with rescue organizations like Independent Animal Rescue, hosting fundraisers, making chew toys to donate to shelter animals, and holding pet therapy events before finals. Our organization is open to both undergraduate and graduate students. To learn more and join, please visit our website sites.duke.edu/dukepaws
