The Park Institute of America is a non-profit, non-partisan organization that seeks to maintain the integrity and vibrancy of America’s parks and ensure that the country’s valuable cultural and environmental resources endure. We champion parks and protected areas by showing why parks matter.

Our mission is to connect communities, organizations, researchers, and park leaders so that parks can provide the most value to people and the planet. The Institute focuses on ways to both demonstrate and communicate the many values of parks, as well as the best ways to generate the public support needed to resource them. We envision a world where everyone believes parks are essential to a healthy existence. Our efforts are focused on four key strategies: - Communicate the values of parks to different sectors of society - Promote partnership models that build support from new audiences - Develop career pathways for a strong and diverse conservation workforce - Drive innovative research on sustainable park access and collaborative conservation
