This is our 10th year hosting high school students who are interested in pursuing a career in healthcare. The MaryAnn Black Summer Internship Program honors MaryAnn Black and her vision to open doors and inspire the youth of today to become our healthcare leaders of tomorrow.
This year our program will be a hybrid version with students attending in person half of the days and virtually the remainder. The students will learn about many of the wonderful healthcare careers that make up the fabric of Duke. In addition to learning about dozens of healthcare specialties from our volunteers, the student’s will receive general test taking skills training, office and dining etiquette training, and will be able to tour and get hands on experience while visiting areas in the SOM, SON and other campus locations. The students will receive a stipend after successfully completing the program. There is no cost to your department.
We need many volunteers just like you to make this program a success. Last year we had 80 Volunteers. We hope those of you that have volunteered in the past will return and invite new volunteers to join us. We cannot do this without all of our volunteers. THANK YOU!!!
When: July 7-25, 2025 Monday-Friday 8:30 am-12:30 pm
There are three categories of volunteers needed this year.
Please sign up to volunteer by clicking here. I will email you to set up a 15 minute virtual meeting so I may answer any questions you have. Thank you. Darla.Wohlfarth@duke.edu
