Description

NeuroPioneers Pathway is a neuroscience education program designed to introduce middle and high school students to brain science, health, and STEM careers. Founded by a Duke undergraduate, the program works to expand access to neuroscience education and mentorship for students interested in science and medicine.

For Summer 2026, NeuroPioneers will operate a six-week hybrid program in collaboration with Durham YouthWorks, hosted by Durham’s Office of Economic and Workforce Development. Duke undergraduate volunteers are invited to serve as Program Facilitators or Mentors, supporting small-group discussions, assisting with neuroscience instruction, and mentoring students interested in STEM pathways.

On-Site Volunteers will help supervise students and assist with program activities on chosen session days.

Volunteer Positions:

On-Site Durham-Based Volunteers (2-3)

Program Facilitators (2)

Program Mentors (4-5)

Time Commitment:

Summer 2026 (June–July), approximately 2–3 hours per session.
