We need volunteers to gather new-home essentials like bed sheets, cleaning supplies, and cookware so that way refugees have a place to call home. We have many families arriving and need your help to get their homes ready! Many of our house set ups are taking place in Burlington, which is about 30 minutes from Durham.
After you apply, we will add you to a list of home supply volunteers. Then we will reach out to see if you are available to help in our next set up! We will then connect you with 1-2 other volunteers who are also available to help with the set up. We will probably need your help within two-three weeks of signing up, however if you are not available for a particular set up no worries, there will be more!
We will give your group a three-day timeframe to complete the set up. The timeframe is usually from Friday-Monday afternoons. All items must be placed in the unit by the deadline. You will receive instructions on how to access the apartment and a list specific to the family you will be helping.
