The J Healthcare Initiative is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented volunteer to serve as a Project Manager for our Research Team. As a Project Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing various research projects that support our advocacy efforts to innovate substance use healthcare and build infrastructure for legal prescription access to opioids and stimulants. Your role will be critical in ensuring the successful execution and timely delivery of our research initiatives.

Responsibilities

  1. Develop and maintain project plans, including timelines, resource allocation, and task assignments
  2. Coordinate and facilitate regular team meetings to monitor progress, identify and resolve issues, and communicate updates
  3. Collaborate with the research team to define project scope, objectives, and deliverables
  4. Oversee the implementation of research methodologies, data collection, and analysis processes
  5. Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and research ethics standards
  6. Provide progress reports and present research findings to the organization's leadership team
  7. Identify and address potential risks or roadblocks, and implement mitigation strategies
  8. Foster a positive and productive team environment, and provide support and guidance to team members
  9. Liaise with external partners, stakeholders, and subject matter experts as needed

Preferred Qualifications

  1. Have volunteered before for another non-profit organization
  2. Lived/Living Experiences with Substance Use and Addiction

Mandatory Qualifications

  1. Master's or PhD degree in a relevant field, such as public health, healthcare administration, or social sciences
  2. At least 2 years of experience in project management, preferably in a non-profit or healthcare-related settings
  3. Ability to think critically, problem-solve, and make informed decisions
  4. Proficient in project management tools and software (e.g., Gantt charts, Trello, Asana)
  5. Knowledge of research methodologies and ethical considerations in the healthcare field
  6. Commitment to the mission and values of the J Healthcare Initiative
