These volunteers support support our urgent food delivery initiative. Volunteers meet at the Feed My Sheep food pantry at 11am on the 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month, load food bags/boxes into cars, and then deliver these food boxes to the homes of older adults within our program. CARE Connections leadership creates routes in advance based on the number of volunteers signed-up to delivery and older adults signed-up to receive food. Total duration of the volunteering activity is from 11am - ~1:30pm.
Please note: We manage volunteer sign-ups on a Google Sheet outside of the Duke Connect Community platform. If you would like to deliver groceries with us on a Saturday in the future, please click here to sign-up. Tabs of the google sheet describe the date ranges of available sign-ups.
